General Information

The website www.melittaofficial.com (the "website") is the online store of VASILIKI GRAMMENOU, sole proprietorship (ατομική επιχείρηση), VAT (ΑΦΜ) EL106865789, G.E.MI. No. 148779401000, with registered office at Farsalon 4, Chalandri 152 34, Athens, Greece, trading as MELITTA (the "Company", "we", "us").

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using this website. By visiting, browsing, registering, or placing an order on the website, you confirm that you have read these Terms, agree to be bound by them, and accept our Privacy Policy (which includes information on cookies).

A. Scope of the Terms and Conditions of Use

These Terms are intended to comply with applicable European and Greek legislation, including Law 2251/1994 on Consumer Protection (implementing Directive 2011/83/EU), the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679), and Greek Law 4624/2019.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, provided that any modification does not affect orders already placed or rights already acquired by the customer. Customers are responsible for periodically reviewing the Terms in force at the time of their use of the website.

By using this website and submitting an order, the customer acknowledges that they have read and accepted the Terms and that a distance sale agreement is concluded with the Company on the basis of these Terms. Any customer who does not agree with these Terms should not use the website or place any order.

We reserve the right to temporarily or permanently suspend the website or any of its services where reasonably necessary — for example, for maintenance, security, or legal compliance reasons.

B. Personal Data

For information on how we collect, use, and protect your personal data, please refer to our Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy describes the categories of data we process, the legal bases for processing, your rights under the GDPR, and how to contact us regarding data protection matters.

C. Security

The website uses the SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) protocol to encrypt data transmitted between your browser and our servers, including during checkout. Payments are processed by our authorized payment service providers (such as Shopify Payments and PayPal) through their own secure environments — we do not store full credit or debit card numbers.

While we apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, no system can guarantee absolute security. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for unauthorized use of payment cards or for damage caused to your device by viruses, malware, or similar threats encountered during your use of the internet. We recommend that you keep your operating system, browser, and security software up to date.

D. Products

We make every effort to present our products accurately on the website. However, the colors, fabrics, and visual aspects of products as shown on screen may differ slightly from the actual product, depending on your device settings.

We reserve the right to correct any inaccuracies or omissions in product descriptions, prices, or availability, and to update the website at any time without prior notice. If a product does not meet your expectations, you may return it in accordance with our Refund Policy.

E. Orders and Distance Sale Agreement

By placing an order through our e-shop, you enter into a distance sale agreement within the meaning of Law 2251/1994 and Directive 2011/83/EU.

You may place a valid order if you are at least eighteen (18) years of age and have full legal capacity under Greek law. Representatives of legal entities may also place orders on behalf of their entity.

Procedure

  1. You select the products you wish to purchase and complete the order form with the required information.
  2. Before completing the order, we provide you with information about the essential characteristics of the products, the total price including VAT, shipping costs, payment and delivery methods, the duration of any offer, and your right of withdrawal.
  3. You must accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy by ticking the relevant box before submitting your order.
  4. Submission of your order constitutes an offer to purchase. You will receive an automated email acknowledging receipt of your order — this acknowledgment is not an acceptance of your offer. The sale agreement is concluded only when we confirm acceptance of your order, which occurs at the latest upon dispatch of the products. We reserve the right not to accept an order (for example, due to stock unavailability, payment issues, or suspected fraud), in which case any payment already made will be refunded in full.
  5. Upon submission, you will receive an electronic copy of your order, which you may save for your records.

Payment

We accept the following payment methods: credit/debit card, PayPal, cash on delivery, and bank transfer. You may choose to receive a retail receipt or, if you are a business or freelancer, an invoice (provided you supply the required tax information at checkout). The receipt or invoice is sent together with your order.

All displayed prices include VAT. We reserve the right to change prices at any time without prior notice; the price applicable to your order is the one in effect at the time of order submission.

Availability

All orders are subject to product availability. If a product is unavailable, we will inform you and may offer an equivalent alternative; if you do not wish to accept the alternative, we will refund any amount already paid in full.

Customers Outside the EU

Non-EU customers may be subject to additional charges such as customs duties, import taxes, and exchange rate differences. These charges are the customer's responsibility, and the Company bears no liability for them.

F. Right of Withdrawal

You have the right to withdraw from the sale agreement, without giving any reason, within fourteen (14) calendar days from the date you (or a third party designated by you, other than the carrier) receive the products. This right is provided under Law 2251/1994 and Directive 2011/83/EU.

To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us of your decision before the 14-day period expires, by email at info@melittaofficial.com or by post at the address listed at the end of these Terms. You may use the model withdrawal form provided in our Refund Policy, but this is not mandatory.

For the conditions of return, refund timing, and any product-specific exceptions or restrictions, please see our Refund Policy. Certain product categories may be subject to limitations or excluded from the right of withdrawal where permitted under Article 3 §10 of Law 2251/1994 (implementing Article 16 of Directive 2011/83/EU), in particular for reasons of health protection or hygiene.

G. Statutory Warranty (Legal Guarantee of Conformity)

In addition to the right of withdrawal, you are entitled to the statutory legal guarantee of conformity under Greek and EU law (Articles 534 et seq. of the Greek Civil Code, implementing Directive (EU) 2019/771).

This means that if a product delivered to you is defective or does not conform to the sale agreement, you have the right — for a period of two (2) years from delivery — to request, free of charge: repair or replacement of the product, a proportionate reduction in price, or, in qualifying circumstances, termination of the agreement with a refund.

The statutory warranty is separate from and additional to the 14-day right of withdrawal and from any commercial warranty offered by the manufacturer.

To make a claim under the statutory warranty, please contact us at info@melittaofficial.com with a description of the issue and proof of purchase.

H. Shipping and Delivery

For shipping methods, delivery times, costs, and geographic coverage, please refer to our Shipping Policy. Delivery times are indicative and may vary depending on the carrier, destination, and external factors such as adverse weather or strikes.

I. Customer Obligations

Customers must use the website in accordance with Greek, European, and international law, and refrain from any unlawful or abusive conduct. Each customer is responsible for keeping the confidentiality of their account credentials and accepts the risk of any unauthorized access resulting from disclosure of those credentials.

We are not obliged to monitor user-submitted content (such as product reviews or messages) but may, at our discretion, remove content that we determine to be:

  • unlawful, abusive, defamatory, threatening, obscene, or violent in nature;
  • false, misleading, or infringing on the rights of others;
  • promotional or commercial in nature (spam, chain letters, unsolicited advertising);
  • containing personal information about third parties;
  • containing viruses, malware, or other harmful code;
  • otherwise in breach of these Terms.

You agree not to use the website to: send commercial or unsolicited emails; impersonate others; collect personal data about other users; circumvent our security or technical measures; or interfere with the operation of the website.

In the event of a violation of these obligations, we reserve the right to delete the offending content, suspend or delete the customer's account without notice, and, where appropriate, cooperate with competent authorities. The customer agrees to indemnify the Company for any third-party claims arising from their breach of these Terms.

J. Intellectual Property Rights

The entire content of the website — including images, graphics, photographs, drawings, texts, product designs, marks, logos, and symbols — is the intellectual property of MELITTA and is protected by Greek, European, and international intellectual property law.

Except as permitted by applicable law (including limited rights for quotation, private use, news reporting, or other mandatory exceptions under Greek Law 2121/1993 and EU copyright law), any reproduction, modification, copying, distribution, transfer, public display, republication, downloading, or other use of any part of the website for commercial or other purposes is prohibited without our prior written consent. Display of content on the website does not constitute a transfer of any right or license over that content.

K. General Provisions

Assignment. The customer may not assign their rights or obligations under the sale agreement without our prior written consent. We may assign or subcontract our rights and obligations under the sale agreement to third parties.

Force Majeure. We are not liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations due to causes beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, governmental measures, war, civil unrest, terrorism, strikes, fire, flood, natural disasters, or pandemic restrictions. If such an event continues for more than sixty (60) calendar days, we will contact you to terminate the sale agreement and refund any amounts paid.

Waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or of any other right.

Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The unenforceable provision shall be interpreted, to the extent possible, in a way that achieves its original commercial purpose in a valid form.

Modification. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. The version in force at the time of your order applies to that order.

L. Amicable Resolution of Disputes

If you have a complaint about our products or services, please contact us first at info@melittaofficial.com. We will make every reasonable effort to resolve the matter directly.

If a dispute cannot be resolved between us, you may have access to out-of-court dispute resolution mechanisms available to consumers in Greece and the European Union, including:

  • The Hellenic Consumer Ombudsman (Συνήγορος του Καταναλωτή), an independent authority for the out-of-court resolution of consumer disputes — www.synigoroskatanaloti.gr
  • The European Consumer Centre Greece (part of the ECC-Net), for cross-border disputes with traders established in another EU Member State — www.eccgreece.gr

Recourse to these mechanisms does not affect your right to bring proceedings before a competent court.

Note: The previous EU Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) Platform was discontinued on 20 July 2025 by Regulation (EU) 2024/3228.

M. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and any sale agreement concluded through the website are governed by Greek law. The courts of Athens, Greece shall have jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the sale agreement.

The above is without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection rights you enjoy under the law of your country of residence within the European Union. If you are a consumer residing in another EU Member State, you may also bring proceedings before the courts of your country of residence, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 1215/2012.
